How to Thrive in Your First Week

Here you will learn about:
How to Thrive in Your First Week
Step 1: Meet Your Seedling's Needs
Your Seedlings are counting on you to create a comfortable home! Start by placing beds, sinks, and toilets in your Campus to cover their basic needs.
A well-equipped space means happier, healthier Seedlings.
Priority #1: Make sure your Seedlings have their basic needs covered

Seedlings have food, rest, social, hygiene, comfort, bladder, water, and energy needs.
Seedlings can only die if their food or water needs are not met. Other needs, like rest or bladder, will not be fatal but can lead to a crisis state.

By default, societies run on ANARCHY, giving everyone full control over buildings and land. This requires trust but allows for fast changes.

DO NOT change the constitutional model early on—it can create bottlenecks, especially in food production, where stability is critical.

Don't leave Anarchy too soon
Critical First Actions

If your Seedlings are hungry, they can head out into the world to harvest berries and herbs from bushes to fill their bellies. But don’t forget—harvested food isn’t usable until it’s delivered back to the Campus!
Your top priority is FOOD PRODUCTION—without it, YOUR SEEDLINGS WILL DIE.

Berries and Herbs offer only a small nutritional boost, but they can keep your Seedlings going while you establish a more reliable food source. Be careful, though—once a bush is harvested, it won’t regrow! Plan wisely!
Critical First Actions

Although the Campus has some food available, it is scarce. To prevent starvation, it’s essential to create a building dedicated to food production. To do this, transfer the Growbox from the Campus to the newly created building.
The Growbox allows you to grow food, but since the process takes time, it's best to craft multiple Growboxes and place them in your building to ensure a steady supply.

Getting More Resources

Extract and harvest important resources
When you feel safe about your food stock, you can start focusing on extracting resources, the amount of resources you need to extract can vary based on your society's objectives:
There are Extractors for Clay, Coal, Copper Ore, Iron, and Stone. There is also a Growbox for creating Wood, Grain, Algae, and Cotton
Additionally, you can harvest Wood from nearby trees and Stone from nearby rocks.

Extract and harvest important resources
Be careful—not placing your structure correctly can block access to the deposit. Avoid building directly on top of a deposit, as this will remove your ability to harvest from it. Instead, position your structure next to the deposit and place outdoor blocks over it to ensure access from within the building
If you still have Bricks, you can use them as building material. If not, harvest Wood from nearby trees as an alternative. Once a Seedling returns to the Campus, the harvested Wood will be delivered automatically.

Step 3: Expanding Your Machines
Your initial supply of machines is limited, so you’ll need to craft more to expand production.

Use the Crafting Table to create Growboxes and boost food production. You can also craft an Assembly Station, which unlocks the ability to produce more Resource Extractors and eventually the Advanced Assembly Station. The Advanced Assembly Station will then allow you to craft all other machines.
To craft machines, you'll need Wood and Stone. If you haven’t set up dedicated extraction for these, you can manually gather them from the environment.

Step 4: Society Growth & Governance
Once you are ready you can move out of Anarchy to a different form of Governance

Your society starts with an Anarchist Constitution
Any player can start a vote to change the constitution from the "Society Constitution" Tab

The most structured option is Electoral Autocracy, but there is also Parliamentary Democracy.

If the majority agrees, the constitution will change, new roles will be assigned to society members, and other ballots to elect key roles (e.g. President) will start.
Once you leave Anarchy, economic and construction activities will no longer be accessible to all players, so choose wisely when/if you change Government style.
After clicking on “Start Ballot”, a voting process will start. In binary votes, if a candidate reaches a majority, the vote closes immediately, while multi-option voting takes a full 24 hours.
